How many RTC's have you had, out of curiosity?

You mean......the 4000 gal I'm building for nearly 20 large catfish(more in the future) is going to be too small? lol, I guess I'll just keep a single oscar, or wait! will the pleco be pushing it at all?

Definitely, but there's plenty of pics of it in the thread linked in my sig. Didn't mean to come off so sarcastic, but sometimes pc just brings out the best in me! Some people get so wraped around what someone says that they don't do any real life research for themselves. There are many experts in the field on that site, but they make unrealistic remarks about catfish husbandry, and tank size to dissuade people from ever owning these magnificient fish. Do I think everyone needs a rtc? Definitely not. It's not a starter fish(though I started with one), but with time expirience, and knowledge anyone can keep one if they are willing to spend time, money, and be creative with their fishkeeping!

Comeon now Necro... you know that Planetcatfish will say that your 4000 isn't worthy for a Guppy let alone a cat like an RTC which can get to 6' ( :grinno: )

My comment was only in regards to RTC's. I have kept them before, and a buddy of mine in Florida has a few. First hand experience, they like SPACE.

Ok herpe so you have kept rtc's before. How much space did you give them with all your experience. How big were they when you got rid of them to someone who could take care of them. Cause i seem to remember that they live 15 to 20 years. How old are you?

You rid reference them in a way that says you dont currently have them anymore.

Right now I only have a 5 incher in a 40L. The big ones were in a indoor pond, i'd say about 4' high, 10' long, and 6feet deep. It was about 3.5feet long. I gave it to a buddy in FL that has some large watergardens going.
