How is a forty breeder 8"??? It's about a foot and a half wide.
 
No, This was back when I used disposeable cameras. Never thought to take a pic...

your words were 40L ... which is either 40 Liters (AKA 10Gallon) or 40 Long which FYI is 13" front to back... so lets get your definitions correct before we move on as I would hate to see there be some other mis-understanding with something which was unclear.
 
This thread is slightly off track, but my point is you'll be more than fine with a tank that size. Just keep it 3' like the others said so it will be more viewable. Maybe even work a window into the front as a 1" thick acrylic sheet that's 2' x 4' is pretty cheep on ebay.
 
If you drop the height you should make it longer so the volume is still the same.

more like 10.5...and that makes all the difference.
 
In every forum I've been on 40L's are forty longs... Sorry for that mis-understanding. BTW liters arenot dommonly used in the usa unless you are reffering to drinks...lol
