Been keeping an eye on the other recent thread of this. Read many old ones. Ive raised the temp and added a generous amt. of salt a few days ago. No improvement. Time frame has been atleast a week. Im guessing its my fault for the stock its in with. It was “in the rafters” after a few days of being added to the tank. Didnt think much of it with the info ive read. But theres def. An issue now. I can press her down and shes very buoyant, cant get down at all. Tank is a heavily aerated 32” tall 500gal which probably doesn’t help buoyancy issues. Already preparing a 2’ tall 230gal just for my 2 polys. Have some gar to rehome. I know florida gar and polys are pretty much a “staple” around here but ive had issues in the past and my floridas are very bitey…
Im thinking an epsom salt bath is needed. What amt. and for how long? I have a 55 and 20 i can setup short term for meds if needed or treat the 230 shes going into.
I know everyone says “my water is fine” but mine really is ?… the system is automated and over 200% tank volume is replaced weekly. Nitrates haven’t been over 5ppm in 8yrs and i used to breed rays in the tank. PH is always 7-7.5. Lots of calcium in my water also which ive read is beneficial to polys. I may be wrong on that tho.
Appreciate any help how to move forward from the poly krew ??… im sure this shows how neub i am in this area of fish sadly lol ?
