we're going to repeat a terrorist attack on ourself by not making 9/11 a mini holiday?

The lesson taught should've been that we are not invincible. The Boston marathon bombing should be yet another reminder. 24 hour television coverage and rememberance ceremonies won't stop those who want to harm us from doing so.

Its gotta be about us not them. Even the towers i felt that they should have built them exactly as they were (sticking our middle finger up at them) not the monstrosity they did build.

These days should be hollidays i dont expect everyone to feel the same about it but ya gotta learn from the past sad but so many DID forget about that day not in the sense of forgetting what took place but allot of people didnt feel or forgot that raw panic fear of "holy crap is this it or is there more, are my kids safe "

Complaining about going through xray machines or that being searched is to intrusive is proof
 
I think besides remembering, we need to be sure, absolutely sure of the who, why, and how those events took place.

What are you talking about ? Imo all of it. But thats for me you can remember what you feel is important. I aint trying to get into a pissin match over this...Especially this.

So your opinion is that 9/11 should turn into a national holiday for BBQs and partying and camping and stringing days off together to accomplish such things?

Isn't that what memorial day has turned into for the majority of the country?
 
I feel like this is far too personal to argue with. No answer is completely right, and no answer is wrong. It's a personal matter that will naturally effect those who are closer to the incident than those who are not, IMO. In my opinion no platform is proper for this subject, much less an aquarium forum. Everyone experiences things differently and we should never expect to put ourselves in their shoes.
