9-11 WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHT'S

What is this pledge thing that everyone keeps talking about?

Anyways...I think what happened on 9/11 was terrible. I feel sorry for all the innocent people that died, it must have been aweful for them.

I don't agree with the whole war thing though...I think too many people make the wrong connection between the war in iraq with what happened with the 9/11 attacks- these two should never be confused with each other, we didn't go to war with iraq because of the attacks etc. 10's of thousands of people are dying in a war in another country, a war which we started.

Lets not taint the memory of the innocent people who died in the 9/11 attacks with the blood stained political war we are at with other people. Thousands of innocent people have died in the war in iraq, thousands died of innocent people died in the 9/11 attacks. They both deserve to be respected and mourned as much as each other, none of these innocent people that have died in these incidences ever deserved to die.

I meant on mfk period. This thread will not be diminished any farther by me. lol Every time we do it it ends the same way:(

I went to NEW YORK less then 6 months after the attack to simply go serve the Firefighters and Construction Guys and cops and aid workers hot soup at any hour of the day they wanted. We visited and befriended families and friends of those who lost their lives on that terrible day. I stood with my toes over the edge of ground zero. I never realized how massive ground zero really was.

One firefighters cousin was killed in the attack and he was there everyday helping clean out ground zero. While we were there they found his cousins wallet with his ID that was still legible (this is nearly 6 months after the attack). This big burly New York Firefighter cryed for hours. The back of his jacket read in his own hand writing, "Bin Laden: Wanted for the murder of my cousin."

The whole experienced changed my life forever and gave me a new perspective of the damage on a major scale all the way down to one individual man. Every person I talked to had a story. Anywhere from hearing the incedent to being in the towers and escaping, to watching people jump from the burning building.

To those that lost friends or family our thoughts and prayers are with you.... and God bless this greatest nation on the planet..THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!

you just brought tears to my eyes.what an experience you had being there.. i almost feel your feelings with every sentence you wrote.. and you described it all as only a caring feeling human being could.. you met those people and they touched your life..and i am sure they appreciated that they could tell you their story in their own words..their story of pain and suffering and love.. you heard it from them.. not from something you read..And some of their story now lives in you and thats how you wrote this..

That is an amazing story. You are a true hero. Sometimes I forget how tragic it all was. Like Big Spizz said, after 9/11 I started to feel very patriotic. Sometimes the spirit dwindels, though, with all the talk of the mess in the Middle East. Sometimes I wonder what this country is all about. Every so often, though, I hear or read a story like that and it reminds me. It reminds me of how lucky I am to be among people like you.

Thank You.

We shouldn't forget about alll the long term health effects rescue workers and people near the site now have. Imagine all those crushed flourescent tubes and such they had to breath for so long.
