9" Armatus eating 4" Goldfish

I want one so bad. Are they the same as the Payara?

Similiar to payaras and from the same family but more vicious. Oh ya, they cost a lot more than payaras too.

West, try starving it and feeding freeze dried krills. When I had payaras I had success getting them to eat freeze drill krills. When the krills drift in the filter current they think it's a goldfish. Thanks for sharing the photos.

payara are scombs,tats and armatus.
its just a general name for all the hydrolycus species.
so yes,armatus does = payara.
