90 gal GT & 55 gal Krobia Xingu Orange

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice acara never seen one of those before.

Your Krobia look pretty much identical to mine, except mine are lighter in color, probably because they're in a tank with a light blue background. Mine are about 5" or so. How old are yours?

Very nice fish in great tanks. It nice to see fish in a good sized tank as opposed to some of the pics I've been seeing lately of really beautiful fish in tiny tanks with no room to swim around. Great photos, did you get the Krobia from Rapps?

Thanks, yes I got them from Jeff during the summer they were only about 1.5". I'm not a fan of over stockinging or shoe horning fish into small tanks either.

Very nice! Would love to try K. xingu sometime. Are they fairly outgoing?

Thanks Peat, They are fairly out gowing. They ineract with each other but don't pay any attention to the other fish in the tank. Mine are not shy and come right up front when I approch the tank. "The guy with the food". One thing I have noticed is an interesting behavior, they have learned the mollies dispense food and follow the females around when they are ready to give birth. They must "smell it".

Nice GT, but that Krobia is really sweet. Never seen one of those before. I assume they stay rather small?

Thanks, they top out at about 6" but grow pretty slow.

Yeah, they're a little different, I like the stripes and interspersed orange.

I got them in August at about 1.5" so I'd guess about 7 months give or take. These guys showed nice colors from the start, I'm happy with them. Got any pics of yours?

Love Goldsaums. Will always remain an impressive fish in any collection.

Nice setups and specimens indeed!

Not to try to derail but i'm in the process of setting up a 40gal breeder for our GT ( too small I know, but it is just temp.) I was wondering what you would recomend for some tankmates?
I am still researching but what information I find thus far is mostly contradicting at best and seeing that you have other fish with your's I thought I'd ask.

Thanks and congrats on some very nice setups!

Thank you very much.
Tank size will be ok for a while, 40 breeders have a wide foot print. I would do maybe 5 Mollies 1 male 4 female and a Bushy Nose Pleco. Keep it light and when you upgrade you could add more.
