90 gal tank with jack dempsey. tankmates?

good ideas oscaroo. only thing is i heard eels are hard to take care of because they are hard to feed. and i have never seen them in my area. i also dont want bichirs becase i dont personally dont like the look of them. and this may sound dumb but what is a "SD"? i would really like to do an oscar. if i had a JD and an osacr. what else could i add. what plants could i add?
Is it a EBJD or just a normal one, EBJD aren't very hardy from what ive heard so choosing your tankmates would be harder for a EBJD! If you do choose to get an oscar I'd wait for the EB/jd to grow larger so it doesn't get bullied! Plants i would recommend java fern but oscars are a bit annoying when it comes to plants so it would be wise to choose a hardier plant such as java fern! But i think some FM's with some zig zag eels would look great! I recently bought a tiretrack (too big for a 90) however i haven't had any trouble with it, it ate the first day so i guess it's just down to the individual fish!

it will be a normal JD. i with i could get the electric blue but they are around 50$. the normals are like 6$. i dot have the extra 45$. so just a normal(they still colorful though!). i agree with tough plants with oscars. i dont really want an eel anyways.

sorry to be a pain. i was thinking maybe with a JD, oscar, a pair of convicts and maybe a few others?If your convicts breed they become very aggressive in the effort to protect their eggs, and I've heard of 5 inch convicts killing 10+inch oscars so i don't know if it would be wise to keep a pair with an oscar or your JD for that matter! I think FM's look nice than cons imo haha! I think if you really want an oscar then have a jd and an oscar with some catfish maybe some featherfin or tiger sinds? Really nice cats and if you've got the money true jaguar catfish!

1 JD(normal becuz i dont have money for EBJD)
1 oscar
2 firemouths(in a pair couldnt they defend themselves better from the JD and oscar?)
2 blue acara(kind of cichlid if u dont know. again in a pair to defend themselves better. i read they do fine with oscars alone though)
1 columbian shark or other catfish(or to they do better in groups?)
1 or 2 more cichlids(what else could i use?)
keep in mind this isnt even close to final plan. i am still very flexible. the only fish that will not change is the JD. also, all the above fish would eat about 75% meat, 25% veggies. i want to know so i know what to put in my homemade fish food.
