After a few years out of the hobby I got a hold of a 90 gallon tank. I am ready to finally Set it up I have all equipment ready and I planned on growing out several fish. I was thinking
1xchocolate cichlid
2xseverums
4xangel fish
1xmarbled convict
And a school of Corys
I have 2 ac100 hob filters
And plan for a black background
I highly doubt I'll get all of those all at once I'll gradually add them as I find them. What do you guys think? I can always change to a canister filter but this is just to start me back into the hobby that's why I'm choosing more docile fish. or so at least I think they are
I will post pics after its set up

Welcome back to the hobby n MFK !!!
Feel chocolates n severum can be a good option....
Angels can be nippy n aggressive ..
If you are starting afresh then hob should be ok, to get you a feel on how good a job ur filters can do.
Good luck with your re-start

I think your stock list sounds good.the only one I would leave out is the convict.
It's the only central American on your list and is the most likely to cause problems.
Angels can get a bit nippy with each other when breeding but they pose no risk to any of the other fish on your list.

Yes your right convicts can be nasty little guys for sure, so you don't think my Cory cats will be a delicious meal for any of my cichlids? And the Angels are fin nipper but not towards the bigger cichlids right ?

I just need a black background and for my water to hit 78 degrees and let it cycle for a week maybe add fish next week or in a few weeks can't wait. I feel like a kid again

I would only go for 1 Severum and leave out the convict. Chocolate cichlids get rather large and in a 4ft tank with a Sev and the Angels would be pushing it. If you want add some tetras for extra movement....Buenos Aires are good IMO.
