90 gallon diy under counter from scratch

I have to ask; what's your counter made out of? If it's the laminate covered fiber board, you had better stop your project immediately. The moisture from the tank under it will destroy it. If it's granite, stone, marble, or one of the other solid materials you will be fine. Well, except if your cabinets are fiber board.

fiber board but i already took that into consideration.

1

tank will always have a solid fitting top so all moisture should stop there

2

bought a large sheet of mirrored plastic to cover the entire area of the exposed counter in case some water does get through.

that is a awesome suggestion had i not thought of that you would have just saved my but.

i actually wouldn't have thought to do what i did had i not read about the one guys problem with his flooring after installing his 50000 gallon basement tank.

Solid fitting top means no gas exchange = BAD. Better just put plastic fish in there because real ones won't live too long. Sounds good in theory, but in practice it doesn't work.

Better seal everything under the counter because once moisture gets into the fiberboard it'll start expanding and rotting.

video update gt's are in there new home found a male to go with the female however not sure if i got lucky enough for them to breed seem to be arguing quite a bit no serious biting but chasing around and nipping eachother.

check it out and please let me know what you think

Your terrors have tore that little guy up you need to get that little one out of there its only going to get worse.

No hes fine. The problem is he had like 1 place to hide in the 30 gallon which is what i bought him in he came in a set. And he was fine until i took out the tinfoil barb..then all hell broke loose. Now that i have those 2 in there they dont bother him much at all he actually gets to roam around without to much worry. and i still have the 30 gallon i just have to clean and fill it back up. Ive been watching it closely if they start to mess with him he will be taken out post haste.

also he will be taken out when they breed.
