Well I switched my 90 gal African cichlids tank to a south American tank . I saw these rare albino heckelii at my LFS and had to get them there so cute . I cleaned tanks changed the set up added driftwood. Have 5 heckelli ,3 red should severums and 1 gold/red severum mix and 1 pleco in there . Should more fish be added ? Tank has two fx-4's . Any suggestions would be great for success. Thanks

At about 2 years of age, (8"to 10") my heckelli started killing each other in a 6 ft 150 gal tank, there were 6 of 7 that started as 1.5 to 2" juvies, it was a few years back, if my memory serves.
With mine, the aggression wasn't overt, and seemed to be more of a case of intimidation, in the smallish tank, for the size they attained.

It was recommended that adults need a tank "over" 200 gallons to remain civil to each other.
See the article in the Oct 2006 issue of Cichlid News Magazine (available as a back issue, for more info.
That said about aggression, albinos sometimes are sometimes more passive, less aggressive and sometimes don't grow as large as normal types.

Gorgeous tank, good choice of cichlids for tank size :)
