Hello all I posted awhile ago asking on stocking help for my son and mine 90 gal tank with 30 gallon sump. We waited and finally found a good breeder of EBJD. The gentleman helped us pick out what he says is a 3 inch male and gave us a 3 inch jd female he explained that the color markings on her face shows its a female (I hope so). Anyways they are in the tank however I came home today and my son went to the pet shop with his money and bought a 3 inch gt and 3 inch firemouth. I am a little nervous now due to thinking long term for our tank. Will this be feasible with 1 ebjd, 1 jd, 1 gt, and 1 fm? Right now they are getting along but as they mature could we be looking at world war? If not how.long do we have till we need to either upgrade or rehome. Thank you

This will probably work, unless one decides to become hyper dominant.
That's probably the limit as far as cichlids go though, the only thing I could see adding would be non-territorial dither type fish such as a school of tetras, or shoal of larger growing live bearers.

In my opinion...long term the 90 gallon is just good for the 2 JDs. Maybe the FM too. The GT puts it over aggressive and space wise.

I have 6 giant dainos with them right now. Trying to arrange the tank better for territories.

It can work....howover with cichlids there is never a guarentee. If the jd's pair off they can potentially dominate the entire tank. Or they can just take a portion. You can never know for sure. I would say just decorate heavily and give a lot of territory. If anything return the gt and get some more smaller cichlids like 1 or 2 more fire mouths or something.

You are running too close in terms of bio load.
Since the buy is already complete , keep a look out for any signs of aggression .
Can you please post couple of pics of ur setup

After my son brought home the gt and fm I tried to give them as much shelter and caves as possible. The gentleman I bought the jds from said I can let them grow out and if aggression becomes to bad he will take either the gt or jd back. He stated he would trade the gt for a salvinI or another fm. Would that work? 2 jd, 1 fm and a salvini or/ 2 fm.

Trichromis salvini are usually much more aggressive than any of the other cichlids you have. I consider the others more bluff than true aggression.
And because the ones you have now are young, you may be able to maintain a hierarchy for an extended period and let them grow up together, without adding any other cichlid. Normally adding a new cichlid messes with the established territorial zones, and that is where and when problems arrive. The size of your tank with the age fish you have will work for a long time, as long as you keep up with regular water changes, and filter maintenance. and don't start adding new fish.

Ok thank you that is one thing I read is at least with these 4 they are slow growing which helped put me at some ease. I did not know that about salvini appreciate the heads up. I swear it feels like pet shops just tell you what you want to hear.
