Tells us it's hard water, and that normally indicates a high PH as well. So best bet is fish from West side of the Andes mts South Americans (Ecuador, Peru) or Central America fish as they come from higher PH hard water in the wild.
With that water quality, what would be some fish that you’d put into your aquarium? While working with a 90g tank?Tells us it's hard water, and that normally indicates a high PH as well. Thank you for these great ideasWhatStanzzzz7 listed would be a great SA tank.
As far as a Central American tank I would go with something from the Amatitlania family such as Convicts or Honduran Red Points etc. Add in a group of either Swordtails, Molly's, Plattys as dithers. If you want a little bigger fish you could go with a group of Firemouth with the same dithers mentioned above. If you want a solo fish you could go with a male Jack Dempsey. And lastly you could go with a solo Flowerhorn. A Flowerhorn is a man made hybrid of a few different species. They are know to be very personable and outgoing.
Adult male firemouths get beautiful with a little patience and time. Not a fish to be overlooked in my opinion.I set up a 75g with T. Meeki and green swordtails after seeing stanzzz tank and others. Lots of activity and the firemouths are stunning.
