So I’m looking at a 900g that’s used and can potentially clean up to “like new condition”.

The gentleman is asking $4500 cash for tank ,stand, sumps and pumps.
What are your all thoughts?

Looks atrociously filthy but if the tank is solid it can be sanded and polished back to newish. May be able to get a new tank from China for close to that price but that’s just the tank. The value is there if you’re willing to supply the elbow grease. Likely replace most of the plumbing also. If you can jaw him down a bit I’d try because that’s a lot of work but again the values there considering what new cost right now.

Yeah I kinda figured the same. The nice thing is that my wife and I are currently building a house and it would be the focal point in the finished basement set into the wall. So I have the time to work on it.

I seen it online a while ago but I ain’t got that kinda room or cash lol. If you get it I really hope it’s just dirty and a novis polish will get it nice for ya.

looks pretty rough - dunno price tank only - is it 50% of new cost -

would not trust that stand… at all…. hard to make out what the sump is - may not trust the pump either -

check out FTD

IMO it annoys me people ask for over at least 1k for a dirty tank like this and not put in the work themselves. If i was going to ask 4.5k i would have paid someone to do restoration first.

i am never going to drop 4.5k on a tank on my end if it looked like it has been empty for a long time and crud built up let alone not know if it was kept outdoors being left out in the elements (heat/cold) can compromise an acrylic over time.

best of luck

Yeah looks filthy, for a show tank for the house. I rather pay the same or lil more for a brand new one even if dimensions are a bit smaller. The filth would annoy me. But if u don't mind it as a project I guess it's cool. I'm in Cali so 4.5k for a used tank in that condition in my opinion is expensive. If you're set on it. I would make an lower offer. Since above member said he seen that tank for awhile. Which means seller having a hard time selling. Make an offer, I personally would not pay 4.5k or even 4k.
