90G stocking!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok this would be my sugesstion:
2 Severums
2 Festivum
4 Angels
2 Geo's
Raphaels
That would be a peaceful comunity option. for a more agressive comunity u could do:
1 Oscar
2 Green Terror
2 firemouth
2 Acara
raphaels
This is also the division of the species you chose by agressive and peaceful, I wouldn't mix any of the first group with any of the second group if you wanna be safe.

I would mostly agree with this post too. I like both arrangements and it still give you what you want. I have seen plenty of tanks with Severums mixed with Oscars, Green Terrors, jack dempseys, and the like. I think you could more than likely put the sevs in with the more aggressive mix and they should hold their own. I think the first peaceful arrangement alexaniam posted would/should be fine, but the second one may be a bit too much fish for a 90 gallon long term. A male Green terror can still hit 12". I would maybe change that listing to

1 Oscar
1 Green Terror
2-4 Firemouth
2 Raphael Cat

or

1 Oscar or 1 Green Terror
2-4 Firemouth
2 Raph's

This 2nd option would give you 1 bigger centerpiece fish with a few others to hang with. Let us know what you end up with.

i would go with sevrums green terror geos

don't take this personalty but there might be some aggression problems with Oscar and green terror will probably kill everything else then fight to death but if you are lucky it will work but it will probably turn into a war zone

You must like oscars.

Anyways, heres what came to mind when I saw this.

Oscar x1
Severum x2 or Firemouthx2
1 green terror or BAx2
And then a couple of Geophagus
And Raphael cats are tough if you wanted catfish, also my 2cents....

that stock might not work

^^ maybe. I had almost that exact stock in my 90 and it worked for about 3 months before all hell broke loose. Salvini got beat down by the Jd, the GT and firemouth ended up being rehomed.

Im not saying it won't work, just that it might not. Be ready to make adjustments.

How about this setup:
-Red Texas
-Green Terror or JD
-Salvini
-Convict
-2 eupterus

Could it work??

I would say that's pushing it for stock. I thought sometime in my 90 when I restock it about doing an all male tank something like this, which may even be an idea for you if you like those fish.

1 texas
2 salvini
2 convicts
1 striped raph cat
Shoal of molly, platy, or giant zebra danio.

This may even be a bit much. But it would look cool. I or you could trade out the texas for a jack dempsey or GT. I would try to keep it to just one big 10-12" and a couple smaller fish between 4-7". 90 gallon's is a decent sized tank but it's not that big when you're looking at these species of fish.

I have also thought of this setup:
1 oscar
1 green terror
2 Festivum
2 firemouth
1 Raphael

My only worry is about green terror and festivum compatibility! could it work?
