90G Vieja tank

Is the blackbelt cichlid a type of Veja? If so they get awesome my friend had a big male but he battered and killed his female partner. But if you keep it singly it would be a problem.

Yes it is, Vieja maculicauda

Which Vieja species would you put in a 90G tank. It would be the only fish in the tank.

Actually I wouldn't put a vieja in it. I would put a Trimac or Buttikoferi.

I say Argentea, but then again I am bias.

On the other hand, an LFS has a full-grown Blackbelt, and that fish is pretty dang sweet.

It hard to pick any one Vieja, that is why I keep Zonatus, Argentea, Suspilum and a Bifa. But you cant lose with any of those or a Regani.
I really comes down to what you like.

Blackbelts are awesome. I'm thinking of getting one but they are very hard to get the types of ca i can get are like Jags, Uro, terrors.
