  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I recently broke out an old tank and turned it into a fully planted shrimp tank. if your looking into smaller (or less agressive) fish, you might also enjoy freshwater shrimp. ive got eight right now and most of the time they cruise around together scavenging for food. fun to watch and something different.

Cichlids are cool and all, but in a planted small fish tank, I dunno....

I would think a honey Gourami or blue spotted would be a better choice, less aggressive and won't dig!

Keep getting the neons! Cool schooling fish and their cheep. When you get a good sized school going with plants, you'll see the benefit.

Vals and hornwart are easy to keep and grow well in low to medium light-this also won't break the bank on the electricity side too.

Keep us up on the progress!

I would have never thought of shrimp for myself and always skip over them at the pet store. Recently I saw some Bamboo shrimp at the pet store and could not move away from the tank. I was fascinated watching them and they were gorgeous. I would have easily walked away with a few were my fish to not eat them as snacks. I would like to set up another tank specifically for them.

Wow, that's great Welcome.

looks like to a nice start....ask your brother how he managed the ID with the oscar? i had that same setup the oscar decided it wanted a snack...
