Did you try and run your fingernail across it on the inside of the tank?
 
Yeah I did, you can feel it. Iv ordered some sealant and I'm going to put a plate of glass over it. My partner is adamant it has always been there and my neighbour has also told me they think I'm worrying about nothing. They have both said its not that deep, but after the stories iv seen on here its kinda hard not to worry. Its strange, all I can. Describe it as is a crack that's not gone all the way throughm the reason I don't think its a crack is because its a perfectly straight line. It looks scored, there was a sump there and I know the person who sold it me removed it, I'm hoping that iv just never seen it before. My only worry is that it will burst without warning, but I'm thinking to would've got worst if this was the case. Either way ill be securing it once the sealant arrives, unless of course when I get out of bed in a minute its worst!
 
Also its only 0.5mm deep if that and the glass is 5mm, its just I'm a feel anxious person and I know I won't feel right until iv secured it. I even woke up at 4.30am and went and had a look lol
 
Oh god I feel abit daft, its clearly just a scratch. I think I was seeing something more as I'd had a drink but I had to approach the glass quite close before I could see it, the best way I can describe it is that it looks like someone has took a stanly knife and scored the glass, strange one for sure!!
 
If you know that you did not cause it are you sure the glass is not in fact cracking. Keep your eye on it.
 
i went through the photos on when i got it, its there. it might sound silly but i think i was that obsessed with fish i didnt notice it, im gonna put a patch on it, but keep my eye on it until then :-) thanks for the advice! its defo a scratch, is as straight as a peice of paper, i guess i saw a major problem, everyone wonders why im worried lol!
