I've already run this idea past everyone and still giving it some thaught. I just drew up a little diagram to show you all what I have in mind...

As before...any thaughts...potential problems...or comments are welcome.

Looks cool.
What is cost going to be?
Is it going to be heated or is it gonna be natives?
Also how much is it going to cost to sela the shipping container?

Those containers are moved all the time and delivery charges start at 250.00. ot reall all that much concidering the sise of the beast. The containers themselves cost between 1500.00 and 2500.00. Intrestingly enough a 40'er that would make a 19k gallon tank is not much more expencive to buy or to ship. From what I've looked into so far these units would cost about 4500.00. Not too bad concidering the fact that if you move you can take your monster tank with you.

Heating could either be by a roof (house) mounted solar hot water heater or a gas fired unit. The space between the top mounted sumps can be used to mount the water pumps for the filter system. Total cost would probubly end up in the 6000.00 range or 7000.00 for one of the 40' 19k gallon units with 4 windows.

Yes on the resin... The containers steel so it's only for sealing and to coat the metal. no need for it to be structual.

seems like you are in the transportation business. :D

how are you going to seal it cause the walls are not flat. also, what are you going to do on the side where the door is? i think the best bet is do it like Frank with his mega tank. make sure it can also handle all the pressure. wish i had room to fit a 20' container in my house.

portable WHEN EMPTY....but yes. these containers are made for moving goods around by truck...rail and ship. They even have equipment designed to lift and move them around. Granted I dont think anyone's going to take one of these to a convention for the weekend or anything but concider what happens to your BUILT IN unit when you move....
You demo it and start over...

By the way I located a source for the window channel to hold the acryllic pannels in place.

I went with 36" tall windows because thats the most cost effective size and it's really all you would need.
