Who eats SMB/LMB anyway? I have always thrown them back. I don't think they are even good eating fish. I have always looked at them as sport fish only. So I release them for the next guy to catch, I never liked the idea of people taking them to eat. If you want to eat a fish go catch some Catfish or Bluegill or Crappie or Walleye or Perch...

Asian people eat anything that moves. Lol, I can attest to that. I'm part Chinese.

lmb steamed (chinese style) are actually my second favorite fw food fish , chinese perch being the first.... but that was when i was in Hong Kong though.....

I went back to 99 ranch today and it looks like they got a new shipment of largemouth. These got more of that reddish color that someone said on an earlier post meant that they were sick.

I fish a lot and have eaten LMB and SMB. They are great eating fish. Sunfishes and crappies are actually in the same family as LMB/SMB and taste similar, but panfishes have way less meat. Walleye and perch don't live in all of the places that the basses live, and I've never known anybody near the East coast that eats them.
