9inch comet value?!?!?!?!

I can get 9+ inch comets from people's ponds for free all day...
I can get low-grade koi 12+in. for around $15 for that matter. I see people selling them off cheap a lot when they don't wanna keep their pond anymore.
So not a price I would personally pay for something like that.
But eh, if you liked the fish then I guess it's a good deal.

I would rather grow any fish from a fry to an adult any day, but at least you know that with proper care, you will have many years with the comet. $15 was an ok price, IMO.
i'd say grow him out to 12" and then sell him if he's got nice colours. i was fishing in a pond in the mountains above oak hurst and caught a goldfish that was 14" from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail, w/ tailfin it was nearly 17"(i'm not exaggerating, i had a tape measure) i also caught about 15 others between 8" and 12" for a goldfish that large anywhere from $10 to $20 would probably be a good price if a LFS was selling it, when a private individual is selling people tend to not want to pay retail prices.
Yea we got two for $25 the second one is about 6"-7" and it turned from completley black/golden brown to orange!
