9th planet discovered?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was wstching FOX NEWS when they mentioned this the other day but I have to admit that I did not pay much attention to it and not sure why they would make this up if it is not true.

It's basically how Neptune and Unranus were discovered.

yea I'm no astrophysicist so I cant say if it is or isn't realistic, but people have been trying to prove that there was this mystery planet for years and haven't had the facts to prove it. these guys claim to have the data to prove it or something. I, for one, welcome our new planet neighbor.

Like already said....for many decades people have said there is planet X. I even had a comic book back in the late 70's that claimed there was a 10th planet. I just find it hard to believe that we claim to know of exo-planets, their size, the type, and how fast it orbits around the sun but yet with Hubble and other scopes we can't even find one in our system.

Stealth planet, it's where ets come from.

It's not that simple. They can point telescopes in what is basically an infinite amount of directions. I suppose they are confined to a certain region of space based on what they're seeing but even then... space is huge. And the further away we are trying to look the harder it is to find things. Not all telescopes are equipped for planet hunting. And not all telescopes are just available for everyone to use all the time. There is a waiting list for telescope use. And every university is the United States that has an astronomy program is on some kind of waiting list. And not all astronomers care too much about solar system type research.
I'm telling you, Neptune was discovered before it was seen using the same kind of math... about 150 years ago.
Now, using the same kind of math and our fancy computers we can estimate things like mass, orbital period, etc etc.
