I do tend to waffle so I'll try and be brief:nilly:

After a difficult few years through job losses etc. I'm finally back on track. We've always planned a house extension when the time was right so it looks like things are moving ahead in the spring, you can never be 100% certain about these things but it's looking good. As part of the extension budget was always going to be a much bigger tank that would house our then giant gourami, but unfortunately we lost it a couple of months ago but we are still planning a big tank once the extension is built. I'm still at the very early planning stages of the tank but it will be in the region of 400-500usg.

Then I was browsing MFK the other day and happened to notice I was close to 5000 posts, so to celebrate(any excuse for fish shopping) I went to an LFS looking for something that could go in one of our tanks , and I ended up getting our first aro. Nothing special just a silver but it's one of the fish I've always wanted to keep so I picked it up, it's only a baby about 3.5'' so there is plenty of time before I need to move it into the big tank(which is currently a driveway;)).

Home it came and it went in our largest tank about 120usg with our baby giant gourami(once you've have a gg you'll always have one) about the same size so should do fine, plenty of room for them both to ignore each other if they don't get a long. All should be well.

The giant gourami took an immediate dislike of it's new tank mate and before the aro had a chance to settle in it was under wave after wave of attacks.

Hurriedly bagged up again I two choices in the medium tank with the oscar or in the small planted tank with the few small fish in there, it would have had no chance with the oscar so it's now living peacefully in the baby tank. I think it will be fine in the there for at least 3 months maybe more when it can go back in with the GG once it's beefed up a bit.

It didn't eat for two days but it's got it confidence back and is now feeding on Krill and pellets.

Just thought I'd share, sorry about the algae, it can be a real pain in that tank:

Cute. For your 10,000th post, you should go with an asian arowana.
Well it's an option and they are legal over here. Doubt I'll ever get that high I'm no where near as active as I used to be:irked:

Cheers Bobby, what happen with the GG?

Love the custom fish BTW;)

Thats a nice present :)

I've been looking for a GG for awhile now...think the lfs' around here call them different names so they never know what to pull of their distibutor lists :(

:naughty:

You need 5 posts I think to start a thread.
