My mother doesn't want me to keep my E CAT as she says that its a waste of a tank (as our electricity bill is very high) and she also want me to get rid of a tank or two. And i love him and really want to keep him. The only compremise is to keep him in a 12x8x8 which isn't really fair on him. What should i do? And what would be a fair resale price?

You may want to start thinning out your least favourite stock/tank. Sell some equipment for cash, etc. Maybe get a job and chip in for the bills?

Yeah thats what im thinking of doing i have offered to pay some money at the end of each month but she says that i should spend it on other things.

My wife wants me to do the same although I pay the bills lol.

If you keep fish that have the same water parameters, you can join them on a central W/D filtration system. Of course, all the tanks would have to be near each other. But, you could have multiple tanks running on one filtration/heating system.

this is what I do for 4 tanks, saves me alota time on w/c's and money lol, you should try it. Get most of your tanks close by and set them all up to 1 filter.

Sounds like a plumbing nightmare. How do you ensure that the right amount of water gets to the right sized tank? I imagine adjustable valves, but wouldn't the tanks eventually get lop sided? As in one tank ends up getting more than it's fair share and overflows?

All thats too complexed for me LOL, but it looks like i may have to lose my 4 tanks in my bedroom.

Be careful with him, I used to have one and then it started shocking other fish much bigger than him, killed a couple of 10" petina splendidi (bay snook).

Will really hurt you when big, that tank would just overload with waste so I say sell. Maidenhead sell them for £20 so not worth much dude
