hey guys.

im getting interested in getting one of these datnoides, bu ti have no experience with these yet. im no begginer in fish keeping but I AM with these tigers.

i need help, with how to properly care and stabilizing them. im doing my research and so far i have found lots of info here. but i also want to know more.

is there a beginners dat? easiset one to care for?
and can a group of 13" black arows do well with them? my black arows will not bother them 100% sure as they have not bothered any of my fishes, even the ones that can fit in their mouths. can the water specs for black arows be also applicable for dats?

thanks for the input fellas!

anybody?:)

I would have to say that the AT AKA silver datnoid would be a good starter fish. They do not cost much and they have a very good appetite. Just make sure to remember that the Silver datnoid species is the most vicious out of all the dat species.

ok. so silver dats? how well do they cohab with arowanas?

They go great together.

You can find NTT's, IT's, and AT's for about the same price around here. AT's are just a little more cheaper.

NTT's are all over the place right now.

good to know! im really interested now! hahaha! although i have seen a lot of people with arows and dats in their tanks, i still need to know the water chemistries. are they gonna do well with the water param for the arows? not soft, not too hard is what i have right now. my arows are all doing fine, the tigrinus cat which i had since it was 2" has grown to 7" in this water. im hoping they can be stabilized in this set up. i have read they require hard water.

They need hard water true. And so do arows too.

pH around 7 maybe a little lower and your golden.

I'd shoot for gold dats, they have a different more wild like personality compared to the AT's IMO.
