so i went to visit a local fish store and was peeking through "behind-the-scenes" in all of the tanks.
And then I noticed the filters on the bottom..I think it was for a tank with plecos and a bala shark..
anyways there was a FISH in the wet/dry filter..a big one too. i think it was some kind of cichlid..

i didn't dare to ask the angry girl working there because they were fixing up the mess from the shattered marine tank..

what was that fish doing in there?? cycling?

Probably a maintainence worker, doing some sump maintainence.

What you saw was lack of dedication, and lack of care for their job mission.Lazy kids who just want their shift to end.I can't beleive how many carcasses i see in the W/D at my LFS.Same dead fish day after day,the staff just dosen't care.Terrible.

oh that's sad..

hey Bdrick..when you say maintenance, is the fish cleaning it?

It is probably just being separated from the other fish due to aggression...
At one of my local lfs, there's a 2 foot+ aro in the filter... then again its a massive
~300 gallon plywood sump.

I sometimes see fish in the last stage of the filter which are quarantined there after an injury

ok thanks.
what did it mean by maintenance though?

Probably was there to isolate it from the others. that's one of the advantages to having a sump.
