The best part about getting from Petco is catching a deal. His were sold to him as JD's so they were $2 and some change a piece.

I'm pretty sure they would only ship to a local store. If they did ship to your house... they would know that its a flowerhorn and you woulld pay full price. But if the store staff is low and they have the dog groomer come out and get your fiish... Then its fair game! He told us they were JD's! Lol

Yup I bought this guy at the same time for the same price... http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?529176-Petco-Flowerhorn. Notice the chest area wasn't as visible when they are young... That meat just starts developing from out of no where. I'm sure mine was going to get it also.
The dog groomer had no clue what he was doing but he tried to act like he did so we let him act! We didn't tell him they were JD's... That's what he told us! Lol
