Its been one of those random weeks in fishkeeping were you are confused at some events and happy at others.
For some reason, both of my senegals decided it was their time this week to meet the big African riversystem in the sky.
My normal-colored Senegal, for an unexplained reason, just up and pasted on me. Upon inspecting his body it would seem he had a possible blockage issue as he was fairly swollen. His fins were bright red as well but I've had a few fish over the years die and then exhibit the red fin issue so I thought nothing of it.
My albino sen decided he couldn't live without his friend the next day and bailed out of the tank while I was at work. Poor fella was a crispy noodle behind my dresser by the time I found him.
On a lighter note however, my odoe pike has finally reached a length I feel confident putting him into the poly tank, and also finally after weeks of starving decided the tilapia and silversides I was feeding were indeed food haha.

Take the good and bad some days and for more good. Get back on the poly train friend! Good outlook on the hobby.

oh good sir only the senegals decided to die this week haha, I still have my ornate, fat ol' del, and koliba kickin' it in the tank haha. I'm not off the poly train by a longshot!

I'm just overly exciting my odoe will finally grow faster now that hes taking prepared foods instead of 40 freakin' guppies every 2 days hahaha

At least you got some good going for you! This might give you an excuse to look for more polyps too.

haha indeed! I'm always looking for polys, but until my 310 is cleared of NA natives, I can't get anything too crazy. but once its up and ready for my polys, I'll start checking out LJ polys for real monsters.

Only one medication for this ailment. Polixcilin lot of it both lower jaw spectrum. Lol :)
haha for sure! I'm exciting to get my pond setup outside for the natives and the 310 loaded up with some more bucket list type fish. I'll definitely be getting more polys but the options are so opened up once I have a 7x3 tank up for tropical fish haha

Out of curiosity what's gotta go into the big tank? I'm guessing it's revoking fish and sizing heaters but I'm interested to see the your day experience lol. A 7x3 will hold even big mama rays for a long time.

well...I haven't figure out the exact stock list as of yet. I want to keep so many different types but I can't mix some of the fish I want with what I have going in now haha. My entire 150 is going in there:
7 clown loaches
2 bush fish
1 African brown knife
1 featherfin cat
3 polys-1 6-7" ornate, 8-9" koliba, 12" del
1 (adding probably 3 more) odoe pike
the size of these guys is going to limit me though so some may end up staying in the 150.
I'd LOVE to delve into the ray game...but my granite hard water coupled with me having to design a waaaaaaaaay more efficient sump lol may keep me out of them for a while.
I'd also love to get a few of the smaller cichla but I don't know yet.
