pissing power cut. Came home to 2 dead Geophagus. I can only assume the stress got to them... so i'm left with one. I checked my parameters just to make sure and everything is spot on. possibly the combination of whitespot and a power cut. c'est la vie. Everyone else is fine, though the last Geo is looking a little distraught and i'd love to get some new Geo's but with the whitespot halfway through treatment, i can't even do that.

oh well...

warmer water and salt. All signs seem to have gone now so i've done a 30% fresh water change and will do another in a couple of days.
I always use protozin
It says not to use with some kinds of fish but I use half doses and never have a problem. I swear by this stuff, highly recommend it.
I brought a GSP from a shop well known for its poor quality and dieseased fish. It was skinny and had white spot and I felt sorry for it.
Used protozin at half dose and the GSP made a slow, but full recovery.

good to know. I followed the recommendations on here and it has completely cleared now. I do think that the power cut might have had something to do with it but perhaps it was just a contributing factor. The last one is doing fine and i did buy him a friend. It wasn't supposed to be a friend but they are almost inseperable now- small pike cichlid who has already learned all my little geo's tricks. I will try to get some more Geo's though as they have a brilliant personallity.
