yes man change the gravel IMO too clean the glass and maybe add one more plant at the other side and add a black background on all three sides of your tank and then tokay should be happy feel more relaxed and he should come out more !

the black background on three sides adds comfort for any reptile makes them feel more safe.

thats really why you should buy the wooden vivariums with the glass front.

Tokays are cool looking geckos. Too bad their so aggressive.

i second this, the easiest way to tame a tokay is to let it get aclimated to its tank (atleast a week with 3 sides of the tank blacked out, LOTS of plants for him to hide in, and lots of food so he feels content) tokays may be exstremly aggressive but they would much rather be hiding rather then ripping your hand to pieces (it hurts! been there its not fun)

and most defanitly change the bedding to ecoearth, bed-a-beast, or the forest bed compressed brick....the humidity will do wonders for the health of your crazy Tokay :)

oh and btw....

thanks......he kills crickets and could easily consume 20 if i let him.Im upgrading to a 29 gallon would this hold two tokays?

They are not particularily territorial, they just bite when frightened. My pair live in a 20g.

as guppy said they are not exstreeeeemely territorial but with two males...i wouldnt sugest trying it lol....a male and a female will be just fine in a 29, the more space the better :)
