Sounds like your over cleaning the 240. Cleaning out to much bacteria from your filters. If you only got 1 filter on the tank just a light shake off the heavy solids if your going to clean it. If you got 2 filters then you can clean out one leave the other to clean out next month alternate them.

do you not have substrate or decor? I gravel vac, 60% water change, magna-scrap the glass weekly, and replace filters bi-weekly (hob filters not canister). I've never had a cloudy problem since established.
