After 3 weeks of trying to get my sanchezi to eat pellets, he FINALLY went for them! Not only did he take them, but he ate about 10 of them!
It finally worked, and i couldn't have done it without the people on MFK that said to stick with it.
So I thank you all for the support, I am very happy he now has a staple diet of pellets. :headbang2
 
Congrats, i know how hard pellet training can be. It always feels good once you break them.

Update on the pellets

The sanchezi is not only taking pellets as a staple, but now ill catch him looking for them constantly, regardless if its feeding time or not. It seems like he really likes them. It also seems like he has been more active (could just be my imagination, but..) and I've seen him strolling the tank more frequently.

If I were to give P keepers any advice, it is get your piranhas on pellets. Its not only a great staple diet, but its rewarding for the owner as well. As stubborn as they can be, stick with it as I did.

Same goes for almost every fish! I have experienced better colors, health and more active, all around great benefits!

My little rhom is growing like crazy, I have an auto feeder filled with 90% NLS, 5% 01 flake and 5% bw, it doses 2x per day, couldnt be happier with the results!

Not to derail but the OP and the first response basically have opposite avatars. Kinda hilarious.

Congrats btw! I just accidentally pellet trained my new rays, haha, so I know the triumphant feeling.
