beautiful dogs... love all the pics..

You know these Anatolias work in groups? When they sense wolves, instead of staying by the sheep they start action on their own and try to encircle and atack the wolves...

This, at least, was so in the mountain ranges of Anatolia...now they must be softening up,,,getting a known breed and all...

Yeah I have heard stuff like that..
He was bought from a farm house down in missouri years ago-I heard it was a sight to see to watch them work...I have never had the luxury of seeing this...

Not sure what you mean by softening up----He dont put up with much-Only other dogs now that he is older....But honestly, really nothing else

I mean that we, most regrettably, no longer live in a monster dogs world.....these breeds were tough ( like our mastiffs in here )...they ate whenever there was food, a bit of meat, bread and olive oil....slept outside, come rain or sunshine...

and they worked. Had a mission, a purpose.

We now live in the Purina/Eukanuba age....

They softened up. Their mission is, increasingly, the couch.

My dogs have nothing in common to my Father's dogs.....

Yeah-
I certainly agree with that man...
It's sad-
He lives out in a place called Eagle River-Very much still a part of the wilderness around here-
He gets to roam free around the homestead and still part takes in his heritage. Last month the old guy had to run of a huge brownbear that was trying to enter the house-

He has become relaxed since older-But when needed he still reverts back to what he does best....He's just not as quick to act on impulse anymore...He picks his battles now a days...

Anyhow I dont have much time to post right now-I will upload some more pics of the big guy when time permits me too-
