A Dovii Flowerhorn Mix???!!!!! Check out vid

No doubt the fish in question is a cross with a Parachromis species; it has the Parachromis marking behind the eye as well as a few other Prarchromis traits.
Just something to note, jag and dovii both have a black spot at the base of their pectoral fin; something the other Parachromis species do not.

Now of course the fish in question could lack this spot because it takes after the FH parent (or Amphilophus species?) more so.

But all I am saying is that IF the fish in question did have this spot then you would know for sure that it has either a dovii or jag parent. But since it does not, it does not rule out the possibility of one of the other Parachromis species: motoguense, fredrichstalli, loiselli.

I have dovii X red terror hybrids and all of them pocessed the black spot at the base of the pectoral fin, like their dovii father. Also, they have characteristics, such as their head and snout as well as some markings, that clearly takes after , at least partially, from their dovii father. But I guess one really couldn't extrapolate from this as a dovii X RT cross could be quite different then a dovii X FH cross (?).

The fish in question could be a dovii X FH cross, though you would never know it by looking at the fish. I think it looks like what I would think a jag X FH cross might look like though th lack of a black spot at the base of the pectoral fins might suggest a different parachromis species; I think motoguense is a likely possibility instead.

I would love to see some pics of your dovii x red terror hybrids:popcorn:
