A few from the Pond

Thanks for the comments all.

The windows is made from 40mm acrylic, welded at the corner.

robroy, to be honest, I've no idea how the window will deal with the winter. I will be running large airstones a few inches from the surface by the window when the temps drop low enough to try and stop any ice building up in that area. I do have a 3kw pond heater, but I don't want to run it if I can avoid it.

Good idea. i thought by the thickness that it looked acrylic-stronger than glass so fingers crossed for you it stays firm mate. Good job

That's one of the coolest ponds I've seen! The viewing window is great, you get the pond size with a tank view...

how many gallons/ how much did it cost

beautiful koi and awesome pond.. wow .. love it.

Thanks you all for the kind comments. The window turned out exactly how I wanted, so I'm very pleased with it.

how many gallons/ how much did it cost

It is somewhere around 5500 US gallons, plus a couple of hundered gallons in the filter etc. Hard to put a cost to it, but I would say it has cost me in the region of £2000 GBP to build, but I may have forgotten a few expenses along the way. That excludes the fish.

Very nice and impressive looking pond. What all is in there? And what are the dimensions? It looks smallish until you see the fish!

The pond is 18 ft x 9 ft x 4 and a bit ft deep, not huge by any means.

In the pond there are
10 x koi
2 x ghost carp
5 x mirror carp
2 x grass carp
2 x barbel
1 x brown trout
9 x rudd
2 x golden tench
1 x green tench
2 x golden orfe
5 x chub
