cohazard - yeah, i bought that particular lapradei specifically because i liked its contrasting green. my other larger lapradei (seen in the pic with the juvie endli) has almost no pattern at all, but has grown quite large since picking him up a year ago).

That's one of the things I find fascinating about lapradei's in particular. There is soo much variation in the nigerians. I have a slate grey one such as yours, but I also have a cream colored/neon green with black spots (WC), and some brown and green/ brown/olive colored ones (also WC).

yeah, pretty crazy for sure! as far as i know (given the source) both of mine are wild-caught. now that i think about it, except for my senegalus and possibly the delhezi, all my bichirs are wild caught as well.
will see what i can do about more pics soon--
