A few pics of my ball python "Shimmers"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I actually like the "regular" balls just as much or more than the "designer" ones. And dont be discouraged about posting pics, you have a great looking animal and a nice set-up!

Thanks guys. I am very proud of him.

Thanks!!!

I'll have to remember when I'm in the dairy isle to pick my snakes up some Rocky Road.. ;)

I use a combination of "repti-bark" and that expandable coconut stuff... it's very fine, holds the humidity and heat very well.. it's CHEAP...

the way I look at it.. I think it's my responsibility as a snake owner to try to condense as much of its natural environment as I can into its home. I try to keep it as natural as I possibly can.

by the way.. that's a very nice looking snake. How old? any idea what it weighs?

ive kept lots of exotics and still love the balls,i think if you are bored with them you dont have to tell the person all that,if you like it then post.if you break it all down, they got it all, other than the feed scares.love seeing other ppls set ups, thanks.bp,s are beautifull snakes and just kick it on your arm forever.good choice.

Yeah, he likes that water bucket simply because he is enclosed and you cant see him when he is soaking. I don't know how old he is but is about 4 foot long, so I guess he is about 3 years old. He is a really good feeder too.
I am going to try and hide or disguise that bucket with some fake plants and branches.

Thanks, has always been a good snake, never any feeding issues or biting at all.

Repetitive soaking is a bad sign. And I can't stand 'repti bark'. It doesnt hold a shred of humidity and they cant burrow in it. And I think it looks artificial as heck.

i think they said they use reptibark with peat or that coconut stuff and that it holds humidity good for them.how often did they say it soaks.

Who said anything about repetitive soaking? I use newspaper in my tank and he seems to be getting along just fine. Shedding when he is supposed to, he actually has shed about 4 times this year already, must mean I am doing something right.
