Originally they are, but the arowana`s collect for fishkeeping is forbidden down here...
There are 3 way of buy an arowana in Brazil:

1 - illegal specimen
2 - bred in captivity
3 - imported from another countries

I haven`t had notice of captivity bred arowana in Brazil so far and the imported animals are rare...

And unfortunately I`ve never been at amazon and live thousand miles away from there!

Thats messed up, but i guess it's for the best.. you don't want those beautiful fish to go extinct, I've got a black arowana:) they're growth rate is unbelievable :nilly:
