A few pike pictures...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
from the sounds of it rapps better have a big shipment of those lents comin in ha ha

Dangit i didn't even getta chance at 'guessing'...haha. The humeral splotch gave it away right way...haha. LOVE the strigata. Is that one you got from Rapps? I was curious as to what variant he got, or how they were going to turn out. The 'Brazilian' color variant is amazing. Definately keep us updated as it goes through the color change...don't see them very much.

That lent. is lookin spicy as well! BONUS!! :D Now your rockin with the cichlids man. You've always had an amazing collection of fish, but now you're on the 'verge of off the charts' status...;)

Those lents in Rapps shipment are HOTT...;)...He sent me a few pictures of the pikes. Best grab them while you can...;) .

If he gets those and the sp. "Atabapo II" in, maybe he should have a lottery. :D I know how quickly the cinctas went...

Thanks for all the kind words.

Peanut,

I did not get my strigata from Jeff Rapps. I don't think Jeff has any true strigata. I got mine from my LFS. I wasn't sure if it is a true strigata when I bought it. I took a risk. This guy was alot more expensive than my lenticulata pike.

I am very happy it turned out to be really nice and green. He is about 9" and he still has his juvi. colors.

Which pikes are keeping right now?

Thats the main reason I haven't gotten any of Rapps strigata is the fact that I'm not entirely sure they were/are true strigata...as they are much harder to find than one would expect. Was kinda hoping you had indeed got it from Rapps, as I was wanting to get some true strigata...oh well.

It probably won't be until it is around 10 to 12" that it really starts to show its adult coloration...and thats when the fun begins! Love strigata...they are among some of the most beautiful of pikes...and not many people keep them. I find it strange. Congrats to you on actually getting some! I loved mine when i had them, they were amazing fish.

As of right now I am still pikeless. I have a few pikes that I am waiting, so i don't really want to get any pikes that would cause conflict if they ever became available. Sucky thing is none of the LFS around here carry them...so if i want pikes i have to order them...but thats normally what i have to do. By next week though I might have a few pikes...;)

Aye, that you could. Tryin to just get a few choice pikes though. Don't want to get some pikes, then the ones I want come available and not be able to get them because of the conflict between species...that would bite. I'm good though....trust me...I've got my hands full as it is with my parrots and myersi...haha.

nice lookin pics..
