well go with impulse.. that is how you end up with the best and most functional tanks.. uhm.. no wait a minute..

i like the impulse tanks...you get a good mix...eg my 55gal with grow outs- african chilids/ peacocks, 3 bala sharks, fire mouth, severum, ropefish, sen bichirs, 2 angelfish, 2 oscars, 1 hybrid sunfish, clown knife fish, 2 black ghost knives, ummm...oh ya and a spotted rapheal cat and syno cat....i think that is all the impulse got......in that tank anyway......true stock though...don't ask my how it works but it does....

good diet is a high quality pellet base with shrimp, fish filet, earthworms or bugs are great food for little aros =) if you catch bugs/spiders etc just drop them and see if he decides to eat them. People will say that they may catch something from the wild caught bugs but personally I think that the keratin and other nutrients more than make up for that. they have after all survived a couple of million years on bugs.
Very unclear statement. People do not say that they may catch something from wild caught bugs. People say do not feed bugs you catch around/ in your house due to the risk of the insects or arachnids having pesticides in them. Some bugs do not die from these pesticides, but these harmful chemicals are left in the bugs. One bad bug and your aro is now dead. Talking about karotene issue, mealworms and krill provide more karotene than any insect you can feed anyways, really no point risking your prized arowana. I recommend you read the food sticky (http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218052) its got some pretty good advice.

pesticides are not really an issue over here, but I could have taken that into consideration..
