a few shark questions

While the 280 may work for a couple of years for keeping them as pups. By the time the Brown Bandeds get to about 3 years old they will need a larger tank/pond.

Ultimately for two Brown bandeds - I would suggest a pond that's at least 600-750 gallons (either 7.5' diameter or 10'x5' footprint). Keep in mind this species gets to about 40" long.

well, what sharks can i have 2 of in a 280? or is there no shark small enough? If not, how about one eppaulette?

The Eppaulette is out of the question 100%, 280 sounds large buts its not when it comes to Sharks. I personally do not feel you could put any 2 Sharks in a 280 gallon. Yes, you can fit ONE Coral Cat or ONE Marbeled Cat but not two.

X2.

Agreed - for a 280 gallon aquarium - even a pair of Coral cats would likely be too much.

A 280 gallon aquarium - would be ok for a small benthic shark under 30" such as a single Coral Cat or even a Gray Bamboo, for it's life time. But certainly not a pair.

But if you went with a small pond say about 350-400 gallons, then you likely keep a pair of small sharks - like the Coral Cat.

For a pair of Brown-banded Bamboos or Epaulettes - IMO - your looking at something in the range of 750-1000 gallons, at least. Keep in mind we're talking about sharks that get to about 40-42".

well, really good and bad news. I'll start with the bad news. The tank will not be gotten until early november according to my dad. And my internets dead, so I won't be able to post any updates for a bit. This isn't my computer, by the way. The really good news is that I might not be constricted to 280 gallons. I'll very likely be able to get a tank thats larger than that. Internet should be back this week.

Well, I can't do a pond due to my dog. I made an extremely detailed drawing of a tank idea. I don't know if this will work, so give me your ideas on it. Anyway, could someone give me a list of every shark that could work in a tank less than 1000 gallons? And say if I could have more than one. Thanks.

If you didn't notice the sarcasm in the second sentence, go see a doctor NOW.

In a 1000 gallon or less system you have Coral Cat, Marbeled Cat, Brown Banded Bamboo, Gray Bamboo, White Spotted Bamboo, All the Eppaulettes, and a few of the rare smaller species of Wobeongs. However until you give us an exact footprint we cannot tell you how many of what species would work.
