a few umbee shots

Haven't been active on the forums all summer, so figured I'd post a few updated shots of my male & female umbee. I have yet to try breeding these guys, maybe once they've put on some more size.

Very nice! How big is each?

I have a small pair about 5.5" that just laid eggs for their second time, only thing is the male ate their eggs both times .

Thanks fellas. I've never actually measured, but I'd guess the male at 11-12" and the female at 7"-8".

Just saw that your location was canada and hence oliver hah...I don't know a better source in your country for Umbees than below water

Much bigger than mine, mine are Male 6.5inch, female 4.5inch.

Your female has heaps more speckles than mine and she has terrific trailers.
Both typically male traits but she does not have much metallic above the lateral line so must be a she, right....?
Have they been vented?

Your fry will be extra 'speckly' if you ever let them together.

Hey thanks for the kind words. She is definitely a she, see this vid I took of them a few months back. black dorsal, mating signals from the male, etc. They were only together for an hour or 2.
