A Fish Rescue Story and question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I hope so. Thats why Im looking for all the info I can to restore them to how they want and should be. Right now they are in a 75g tank. Its like 18" deep 48" wide. And I forgot how tall. But is a standard 75 big enough for them or do I need to find a larger tank for them to be happy?

Great save...although it was a bad circumstance for the original owner to have them in the bucket as he did..he at least made a good call asking you to take them and took the effort to drive 30 min to you...chances are the surviving fish are in a bigger tank than what they were in. And whats good is you know how to take care of fish..your wife likes them...you don't have to buy any.. Except for the ones that died a win win situation....:)

Hope to see more of them as they recover good luck

They should be fine in that tank. It might take a bit, but eventually they will act more naturally when they adapt to their new place. As long as you keep it clean and feed them regularly they will be less wary of you. Good job, very interesting fish.

Thank you all for your help. And reassurance. My wife is even happier now that they made it past there first 48/hrs. Again. Thanks.

The first picture looks like 2 jack dempseys 1 male and one female. The 3rd looks like a convict hybrid of some sort. and last the little red fish you already said was a jewel. Nice save. Keep up the good work.
