A Fossil for Oddball

Actually I was just thinking we're a little odd.......
 
The piece looks like a Titanotheres leg in my collection. The matrix in the core is more than likely stream bed gravel that filled in a space that experienced necrosis (rotting) before the fossilization process began.

Certainly looks thick enough to be one.

I appreciate your input, Oddball! That's pretty darn cool, if it is from a Titanotheres that makes it 20 or 30 million years old!

The funniest thing about the find was the looks on the locals' faces when I asked for "un martillo para sacar un hueso de la cueva" (a hammer to remove a bone from the cave). :)
