Already done but I've yet to see him sand-dive! A little excercise doesn't hurt.

Well about a week ago I was netting out my cichlids in my 75 gallon tank to put in my 180. I have 6 Rostratus's and they are just pups, about 3 inches long, not tiny but a LOOOONNNNGGG way from being adults thats for sure. Anyway when I would try to net them they did something that made me wonder if I was drunk even though I wasn't drinking. As I tried to net them, if they got away they would bury themselves completely under the gravel the next time I tried to get them. At first I started to wonder if I was ready for the funny farm but when all of them started to do this I realised that it must be normal behavior for them. I read an article on them the next day that stated that they do indeed bury themselves in the sand or gravel when threatened. I mean they were completely covered. I had to literally dig them out of the gravel with my hand.Pretty neat thing to see though.
