The hurricane is coming on the other side of the skinny state so it's not so bad here. Mostly rain and some wind. The Osprey that are very very common here are having a tough time snagging fish from the Indian River Lagoon System because of the wind and cloudy water due to the storm. This morning (and I wish I had the presence of mind to try to get a picture of it) I watch one osprey eat the easy way. I have an above ground pond of about 500 gallons. The only thing in it is one large Texas Cichlid. You guessed it. That osprey landed on the lip of the pond, then bounced over to the Texas, snagged him out of the water and lit off into the sky with "my shiny metal ass"(as Bender would say), or the fishes shiny metal ass flapping in the wind. A shame but mostly funny.
I will have to build a net over the pond before I install any more fish in it.....
