A little clarity please...... firstly, what was that on the Baratheon girl's face and why did her father have her burned at the stake?

She had a healed case of Greyscale, the same thing that the stone men have and which Jorah now has.

Melisandre burned her because the R'hllor, the Red God, hungers for blood sacrifices. The rarer the blood, the more R'hllor will do for the sacrifice. Kings are exceptionally rare, and king's blood is the rarest of all. Stannis is the rightful and legitimate king as Robert's heir; Joffrey and Tommen are pretenders. Shireen is Stannis' heir. She is full-blooded king's blood.

If Melisandre is correct in her beliefs (which seems likely), the sacrifice of Shireen will be a VERY powerful boon to Stannis' attack on Winterfell and the Boltons.

Thanks,I've always had a hard time following the dialogue between Stanis and that woman...I forgot about Sir Jorah being infected.

man, that was dark

damn you stannis. he is one of characters I was most rooting for all season. then he goes and does this? I was kind of gutted. it was hinted last season that he would "need" her according to melissandra but I didn't think he'd go thru with it

I thought this episode was better than last week's

btw, where was all the unsullied and second sons at the end there? there seems to be only a little over a dozen when the assassination attempt began. and i don't recall seeing any of the second sons. where's her army when she needs them?

Thats what i was thinking, the series seems to be slipping up a bit compared to the last few seasons.... Not sure where things are going but i sure hope they dont ruin the ending (not that i've read the book)

Another question, who are these Dragonlords of Valyria that Rob referred to?

Dragonlords were families that use to rule valyria. The targaerens were the last ones left with dragons. Won't say anymore incase the show decides to flash back to show what happen to them.
