Just a general curiosity question:
What is considered a small tank?..a medium tank?...A large tank?.

For me personally:
Mini tank: -5
Small tank: 10-30
Medium tank: 30-55
Large tank: 55+

Large impo is 100 and bigger. 55's are grow-outs at best and I would call them smallish medium..

For me 100-125g is a medium size tank. The 55g is the king of small tanks, just because you are so limited in what should be kept in them. A 180g is the start of the large tanks.

for me, 90 and up is large.

why?

because the 90 is the first tank that is pretty large in all three dimesions.

any thing smaller is either tall and wide, but not long (eg 65 tall)

or long and wide (but not tall) eg. 75.

the 90 is fairly long, tall and wide.

its the smallest tank that is good for Monsters, IMO.

its all a matter of what tanks you have lol.

if your biggest tank is a 55, of course you are going to think thats atleast medium. but if you have a couple 200+ tanks you are going to consider that SMALL!

Yeah. It is all a matter of perspective and the experiance you have had. Personally I base a tanks size on what it can be stocked with. I consider 12" fish large fish for a hobbyist thus if you can keep a large fish in it then it is a large tank. I consider a 55g the smallest of the large tanks. What you like to keep also plays a role. This in MFK so of course a 55g is considered small by most but if you're a guppy breeder or corydora fan a 55g is a large tank.
