A general question about tank sizes..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lets talk about width....18" med.....18"+ large.....

My 125 seemed large (it's the largest so far), But the last couple days, I've come to know what large really means. 6 feet or longer, 3 feet or more front to back, and 2 feet or more tall.
This DIY tank I'm thinking on would make my 125 look like a 55 next to a 125.

For me, 180+ is the start of large tanks. When you can easily swim inside, its ]V[onster. When it needs rebar and cinder blocks to keep it up, its ]V[onster.
IMO, a standard 90G looks far bigger than a 4x2x2.

once you have had them for awhile, your "new" bigger tank seems small imo.
i think 180+ is big at the moment, but when i get there it will become small again, and ill need another upgrade.

That makes no sense, how can a 48"x18"x24" look bigger than a 48"x24"x24"?

For me 55 is small, 150 or so medium, 300 gal big, but there are those who would say 300 gal. is tiny. Those are the people who are making 5000 to 50000 gallon tanks.
