I'm looking for a good canister filter thats cheaper than a fX5 (must be under $180) for my 125g but works just about as good as a FX5. I believe I heard someone on here say that Odyssea's filters are good? Can anyone with experience with them tell me if its a good idea or not? Or if anyone has any other suggestions for canister filters that fit my description that'd be great. Thanks

Its also sold under the name jebao,i bought the bigger brother to it for my tank becourse my old sump broke down and i have been using for the last 3 months and it is working fine and my power measurer says it pulls less power than jebao claimed so that also fine, the downside is that its a bit noisy or about double as noisy as my 3 year old fx5.

I just bought a xp3 for $130.

I just bought a new fx5 off of ebay for $189. It was an auction. Some sellers will sometimes also offer nonwinning bidders a offer to purchase one @ the same price as the winner. Just a thought

Tank Setup - 135gal, fx5, mag350, korilla 4, 3 silver dollars, 3 Red blood parrots, 12" Green severum, 10 coreys (3 emerald & 7 swarts), 2 black spotted eels, 22" fire eel, 24" clown knife, sun catfish, and leopard plaeco

An xp3 is awesome but alot less flow. The odyssea cannisters are awesome around 450 gph with the stock media in em. With a few modifications they only get better. Ive got both on my 55.

If your looking to keep it under 180 the rena or eheim classic series are your best bet. bigals has the classics on sale right now. if you buy the xp3 buy a bottle of matrix or denitrate with it, as they come with next to no bio media.

Ive had an xp4 and now have fx5.

Id buy an xp4 not xp3 cuz you want the bigger one with 4 baskets so u can hold more media and not have to upgrade! just use the xp4 for BIOMEDIA ONLY and have a polishing filter hob like ac110 for all the mech filtration! That combo is hard to beat and very very effective! You could always run 2 presponges in the xp4 so the bio stays cleaner!

Although fx5 and ac110 combo is awesome its expensive, bought mine brand new for 249$ w/ s&h, i would NEVER buy a used filter just because it could have multiple problems that the avg eye cant see, you can get an xp4 on ebay new for under 200$! Beautiful filter

I bought an fx5 + media + free shipping for $190. Keep looking up fx5 under google shopping, eventually one store has a sale and then pounce.
